Pastor Jonathan Stewart
Pastor Jonathan is our Pastor of Families, Youth, and Children. He and his wife Shannon have 4 little girls. Jon received a bachelor’s degree from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
His favorite places to be definitely involve woods, a clear night sky, a lookout, or anything that brings out the “created order” side of things. His favorite movies range from Pixar’s “Finding Nemo” and “The Incredibles” to “Remember the Titans” and “Warrior”. His favorite hobbies are interacting with friends, playing sports, and organizing random stuff.
As the second pastor here at FBG, he aims to continue investing in the work already occurring directing the body toward submission and reliance on Christ and his work. Through all the life changes, he has been continuing to see the absolute necessity of keeping the Gospel message of Christ at the center all he does. This means having the Gospel even affect his ambitions to work to be a "good" Christian. Jon has to be humble in many areas, respectively assertive in other areas, completely broken in still other difficult areas, and yet confident in decisions for even other separate situations. In all these, he relies on superb brothers who model and teach him how the Gospel affects all of these different situations.
Jon is continuing to learn how to rely on Christ for his identity, and he wants to serve him by loving God, and loving people. God teaches that life is crazy, difficult, and nonstop, yet also exciting, fun, and new. Through all times of life, God is loving, patient, and willing to give hope, endurance, and peace to those who have trusted in Christ for the forgiveness of their sins.
FUN THINGS ABOUT JON:

I dreamed of being a pilot (and still hope to get my wings one day)
I’m too cheap to fully enjoy my 2 favorite hobbies. (Dirt Bikes & Skiing)
